An historic Grade II Listed house, byre, cottage and barn, with parts dating from the 16th Century, were meticulously re-developed and extended to form a stunning single large historic home.
Set in a quiet corner of the Lake District, this former hunting lodge had been altered and adapted over many years and had fallen into a poor state of repair resulting in the need for large-scale re-development to restore it to its former glory.
The new owner wished to fully restore the house and buildings retaining as many original features as possible whilst making it suitable for modern day living. The owner painstakingly researched 16th century architectural detailing to enable numerous features to be replicated including oak panelling and ironmongery. Modern comforts such as underfloor heating, a wood-pellet biomass boiler and double glazed bronze windows sit alongside striking restored traditional features creating an exceptional residence that has been restored for years to come.
